The prospect of visiting Tibet first came up in 2017 but getting there wasn’t as easy as I expected. The first tour was cancelled due to lack of interest and the second tour was changed to Bhutan when the Chinese closed the border for a week.
I signed up for Intrepid Travel’s Tibet Uncovered and hoped the third time would be a charm.
And it was.
Despite a few glitches, I finally made it into Tibet.
I wrote this tale as I travelled, so it it very detailed. I included an Overview to give a complete and blunt look at what one can expect if they want to go to Tibet.
