The Entry Visa Experience

One of the first things I do when I’m planning a trip is to research the entry requirements for the destination. The procedure to obtain an entry visa can factor into my decision so I want to know what’s involved before I book the trip. For Canadians, the first place to go would be the government Travel Advice and Advisories and then to the website for the destination’s embassy in Canada. Travel Shorts – Guilin, China

In 2010, I took a tour of China that included a visit to the Guilin region which is famous for the Li River. We went for a five hour cruise to view the incredible knobby limestone hills lining the river. The formations are known as Karst topography.

Travel Shorts – Beijing, China

For many people, one of the joys of travelling is tasting the food in other countries. Unfortunately, I’m not a very adventurous person when it comes to trying certain foods.

For example, I don’t like fish.

Yes. I’m a Newfoundlander and I don’t like fish. If it swims, crawls or frolics in the water, I don’t eat it. As well, I don’t like lamb, goose, pheasant or any wild game.
