When my grandfather served in the First World War, he wrote about his experiences in Europe which included not only his time in France, but several months serving in Gallipoli. En route to Turkey, he spent time training in Egypt, and when he was injured in Gallipoli, he was evacuated to Malta.
After having read about his travels, I’ve incorporated some of those places into my own travels. I’ve sailed passed Gallipoli, visited Egypt twice and visited the battlefields in France. Besides Edinburgh, Malta was the only place left on the list.
I was looking for something not too far away for the winter and found that Explore Worldwide had a tour focused on Malta without including Sicily (which I’ve visited before).
