In 2022, I returned to Costa Rica as my way to get back into travelling as the pandemic slowly waned. Omicron had cancelled a previous attempt in January 2022 and I rebooked with Intrepid for March 2022. The tour was cut short in Monteverde where we spent three days in isolation before returning to San Jose.
For this reason, I missed out on the zipline in Monteverde and the visit to Manuel Antonio National Park. I decided to return to finish that and add more. I was very lucky to find two back-to-back tours that not only encompassed what I had missed, but added on visits to Puerto Viejo and Corcovado.
The first tour – Hike, Bike and Raft – visited Monteverde, La Fortuna and Puerto Viejo.
The second – Best of Costa Rica – included Corcovado and Manuel Antonio but the itinerary changed for 2024, dropping Corcovado.
