Just a few photos from a wonderful day at the Estancia El Ombu de Areco outside Buenos Aires.
The BBQ.
Touring the ranch.
Taking a horseback ride. The horses were very calm and the sheepskin saddle very comfortable.
Sitting down to feast of sausage, chicken, filet, ribs, potatoes, salad and ice cream. Delicious!
We were serenaded by a seventy-four year old gaucho who has worked at the ranch for twenty-three years.
Then we got a demonstration from the gauchos.
This gaucho gave us a remarkable demonstration of the trust between a gaucho and his horse.
An amazing day with a great group of travellers from the US and New Zealand.
I booked this day tour through Viator. It’s a little more expensive than other ranches closer to the city but this ranch is less of a tourist trap and more about the intimate experience between the visitors and the ranch staff.
You can view more photos on my flickr page.
Thanks to Pablo and Marcelo for a great day.
