In 2010, I started a tour of Scandinavia in Copenhagen. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I found Copenhagen to be a very safe, very clean city that takes our responsibility to the environment seriously.
However, for most, myself included, when you think of Copenhagen, you think of one thing.
The Little Mermaid.
We met up with our tour guide in the morning and the first thing I wanted to know was if we were going to see the iconic statue that morning.
The guide hesitated and said, “well, sort of.”
He said nothing more until we arrived at the park and started walking down the path towards the statue.
“I have a little bad news,” he said. “The Little Mermaid is at the Expo in Shanghai at the moment. But don’t worry, they have made arrangements so that they don’t disappoint the tourists this summer.”
I kid you not.
